Gothic Ankh

Gothic Ankh - Abysm Internal

Probably my most Goth design in the shop to this date, the Ankh symbolizes rebirth and immortality. On this design I included the scarab, which carries the 'seed' through life and until its death, just as in the original legend it carries the sun.

It can be found here.

These are the colors I made so far, click to go to the art prints:

Excerpt for Art Exhibition:

According to our recorded history, Egypt was one of the most developed civilizations of its time, their religious system and culture were very rich, included a pantheon gods, diverse stories and complex rituals, especially related to funeral preparations and death.

Ankh is the most famous symbol of the ancient Egyptians. Legend has it that it represents fertility, life, rebirth and immortality. Other famous symbols are scarabs, which represent natural circulation and regeneration.

In my illustration, the scarab is carry a (human/animal) seed, from life to death, and through life to death, in a journey that renews itself over and over in a perpetual cycle.
